Congressman Mike Rogers made the following statement today after being elected once again to the Republican Steering Committee this week by his colleagues.  The purpose of the Steering Committee is to recommend Republican Members of Congress to serve as leads on Full Committees and recommend individual Member committee assignments based on their background, level of expertise and seniority.  

                 This is Rogers’ third term on the Steering Committee.  

                “I am honored to have been elected again to serve on this committee.  As the Steering Committee representative for the Alabama and Tennessee delegations, I look forward to advocating on their behalf before the House Republican Conference. And as one of the representatives of Southern states, I look forward to working on bringing regional balance to chairs and committee assignments,” Rogers said.

                Rogers was selected as the Region V representative which encompasses Alabama and Tennessee. The appointment is for the upcoming 116th Congress.
