(WASHINGTON, DC)—Congressman Mike Rogers made the following statement today after cosponsoring the H.R 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2019. This bill would allow individuals who meet the qualifications to carry or have in their possession a concealed handgun in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms.

“This is simply a common-sense piece of legislation. In most instances, law-abiding folks own a handgun for their personal safety and security. This legislation would allow those qualified individuals to be able to protect themselves as they cross state lines. As a gunowner and a champion for Second Amendment rights, I am pleased to support this legislation,” Rogers said.

Rogers serves as Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security and is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
