Congressman Mike Rogers made the following statement after the United States Supreme Court ruled in the Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in favor of the Colorado baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple citing religious beliefs.

“I was pleased to see the Supreme Court rule in favor of the baker today.  I feel it is a win for Americans everywhere as our Christian-based values were finally upheld today.  No one should be forced to work in a situation that compromises their religious belief system. 

“After years of going down a path that seemed to forget our core values, today marks a turn in the tide as religious liberties prevailed.”
