Rogers to Forgo Congressional Pay Until Government Shutdown Ends

Congressman Mike Rogers sent a letter today to Dan Strodel, Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives, asking his congressional paycheck be withheld until the Federal government shutdown ends and is open again for business.
The letter states, “During the current lapse in appropriations please withhold my pay until the government is operating again.”
Rogers serves as Chairman of the Strategic Forces subcommittee on the Armed Services Committee and is a senior member of the Homeland Security and Agriculture committees.
