Congressman Mike Rogers made the following remarks today in advance of Monday’s national day of remembrance recognizing the life and legacy of the late Civil Rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“With the completion of the new Martin Luther King, Jr. monument in Washington, D.C. this year, our nation now has another beautiful reminder of Dr. King’s dream.  It was a dream that helped pave the way for greater human equality across all races and religions.

“Dr. King brought Americans together regardless of who they were,” Rogers continued. “He was a leader with a vision who brought great inspiration to our country and our state, and his legacy will live on forever. Let us all pause again on this day to remember his life and his legacy.”
