Rogers Announces 2022 Congressional App Challenge Winner

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL) released a statement announcing Atticus Cornett of Springville, AL, as the winner of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s Third District. Atticus designed an app called Atmos Weather to keep users updated on weather changes.

“I am pleased to announce Atticus Cornett as the winner of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s Third Congressional District. I am glad to see continued interest in STEM by students in Alabama. STEM is critical for our nation’s future and students like Atticus are at the forefront of that innovation. We must ensure that students in STEM have the support and resources they need to succeed.”

This app will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us and will also be eligible to have photos of its interface displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

The Congressional App Challenge was created by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015 and allows students to compete against their peers across the country by creating an app for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi or other devices. The challenge is designed to promote innovation and engagement in computer science.
