Congressman Mike Rogers made the following remarks today in advance of Monday’s national day of remembrance recognizing the life and legacy of the late Civil Rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“As we prepare to once again celebrate and remember the life of one of the founders of the Civil Rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we should all continue to remember the many contributions he made to our society and the movement he began that would forever change America.

“Dr. King worked to bring together people of different races, religions and backgrounds and share human equality across the country,” Rogers said. “He was a man of peace, and  a leader whose legacy will forever be an inspiration for all Americans.”
