(WASHINGTON, DC)—Congressman Mike Rogers congratulated the Anniston Regional Airport for receiving a $4 million grant from the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Airport Improvement Program (AIP), funding Rogers said would help rehabilitate the airport’s runway.

            “This project was much-needed and I am thrilled to see this investment being made in the Anniston airport,” Rogers said.

            Rogers said the grant should be awarded under the AIP.

            U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao said, “The robust economy is enabling more passengers to travel by air so this Administration is investing billions of dollars in America’s airports which will address safer operations, fewer airport delays and greater ease of travel for air travelers.”

            Rogers serves as Ranking Member on the Committee on Homeland Security in Congress as well as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.
