Rogers’ Measure Honors MSU State News |

One hundred years ago this past March, the Michigan State University State News was founded, and today the House adopted U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers’ resolution, H.Res.487, honoring the newspaper’s Centennial celebration.
“Throughout its 100 years the State News has provided students with an information source that keeps them connected to each other and to campus activities, news, and resources,” said Rogers, MI-08, who represents the East Lansing area in the U.S. House. “The State News serves as a voice for students through its articles, editorials, and letters to the editor; and as a watchdog for the East Lansing and campus community.”
A history of the State News is available at The State News Alumni Association website.
Rogers also honored the newspaper and its staff in a formal House floor statement which was published earlier this year in the House Congressional Record on the 100th anniversary day, March 10.
The full House approved H.Res.487 today on a unanimous vote. |
