Meeting with auto parts manufacturers in Brighton, Rogers discusses his legislation to enforce U.S. trade agreements, protect American products from counterfeiting and stop Chinese currency manipulation.

Mike presents Mr. Vern Brooks, owner of Technical Directions Inc., with a plaque for being named “Regional Subcontractor of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business Administration. TDI intends to hire 50 jobs directly and another 200 supplier jobs, all in Southeast Michigan.

Mike visits the Oakland County Traffic Operations Center to identify how Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are improving the flow of commerce in Oakland County. Rogers secured $500 million for ITS provisions in the House-passed transportation bill. The Transportation bill will create more than 50,000 jobs right here in Michigan.

Along with Livingston County Road Commission Executive Director Mike Crain, Congressman Rogers reviews plans for the Latson Road interchange in Howell which he has secured $6 million in federal funds to build.

At Lansing Community College's M-TEC Center, Mike meets with students to highlight alternative energy technology. During Mike's service on the Energy and Commerce Committee, he worked to include a $2 billion hydrogen fuel cell program and ethanol mandate in the energy bill. These provisions will reinvigorate the ailing U.S. auto industry and create 370,000 American jobs.

Rogers visits Sparrow Hospital's daVinci robotics machine which allows doctors to operate on patients remotely. Innovations such as these make the cost of healthcare more affordable for job providers which is a primary effort of Congressman Rogers through his service on the Health Energy and Commerce Subcommittee.
